Dimensional Control

Dimensional control surveying is the technique and science whereby 3-dimensional spaces are accurately measured to determine the area between points, creating digitally mapped distances and angles.

Aiden recently completed his Diploma of Surveying from North Metropolitan TAFE, balancing two years of study while contributing to 20+ projects across Australia and overseas. A fantastic achievement! 👏 

Here’s what Aiden said about juggling work with his course and what lies ahead in his career… 

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS? “The team aspect throughout the practicals was a highlight for me. Having the opportunity to develop and challenge each other’s abilities as surveyors in some great locations around Perth made the course quite enjoyable.” 

HOW DID 3B SUPPORT YOU? “3B supported me with a flexible work roster which enabled me to study the course fulltime and work simultaneously. This was beneficial as I had access to both industry resources and opinions from qualified surveyors.”

 WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO NOW? “The variety in projects that 3B is involved in both in Australia and across the world. It gives any surveyor a good chance to travel and develop their skills in an alternative branch of surveying. Additionally, both drafting and modelling data in greater depth is something I’m also looking forward to now I’m qualified.” 

ADVICE FOR ASPIRING SURVEYORS? “Don’t hesitate. There are many great opportunities that come with a Diploma of Surveying. A good portion of the course is practical based with tools and equipment used at industry level allowing for a smooth transition into the industry.”

We’re turning back the clock to last December!

Since 2021, 3B Survey has proudly delivered comprehensive #civil surveying services to the Waitsia Gas Project Stage 2, one of Australia’s largest onshore gas fields. 

A team of 12 – including senior surveyors, project surveyors, graduates and assistants – has driven our contribution, utilising cutting-edge equipment including Leica TS16, Leica DNA03 & Hemisphere GNNS for precision and efficiency. 

We are now excited to share the extension of our contract into 2025, marking over four years of collaboration with Clough on this critical #civil project.
