Mods & Maintenance

Client: ESSO / UGL

Background

3B Survey were first involved with Esso in 2009, when it became apparent there was no dimensional control provider operating in Bass Strait. At that time, piping surveys were carried out using tape measures and spirit levels, meaning that there was still the need for ‘hot works’ offshore for certain complex spools which could not be accurately measured. We had a strong background and expertise in that space so we were able to guarantee ‘first-time-fit’ on all spools, saving time and money, and adding further safe practices by eliminating the need for hot work offshore. We also provide full fabrication isometrics for all pipework.

We have recently been awarded the contract to help our client (UGL) with the offshore decommissioning programme, installing a variety of lifting and clamping arrangements to aide the removal of several facilities as they reach end of life. Our Melbourne-based team manage these projects, with additional personnel available to transfer from Perth if required. We only use trusted Leica high spec Total Stations along with the latest Leica RTC360 Laser Scanners, utilising the Cyclone scanning registration programme, and our own bespoke survey data software.
